Bouteille 341ml, embouteillée 02/2013. Bière ambrée au col épais crémeux et tenace de couleur beige. Arôme prend ce bouquet herbacé feuillu assez agréable avec une petite pointe épicée qui se retrouve plus présente dans la mousse. Cela ajoute un côté me rappelant le boisé du cèdre. Palais est houblonné sur de belles notes d’agrumes; pamplemousse et une impression de feuille de citronnier. Le malt se note plus en fin de bouche mais qui sait faire la part belle aux houblons. Ces derniers offrent ci et là des zestes citronnés-agrumes qui rappelle mandarine et pamplemousse de part le côté aigre-doux qui reste subtile.

I had tasted this beer back in October 2011 and kind of liked it at the time. But since, I’ve tasted a lot of good IPAs and changed my opinion on it. Aroma: Floral, citrus, with little notes of orange. Power of aroma is very average. Appearance: Amber / copper, mostly hazy, it shows a nice thick beige creamy head, long lasting and leaving a small lacing. Taste: Right from the start we’re facing a very dry bitterness with herbal and grassy notes. Very dry earthy notes with a bit of ash. Very dry bitterness. We can also find dandelion and other related floral notes as long as malty caramel and grain touch. A bitter beer with very complex flavors, but no major dominant taste. It is indeed a good quality beer but nothing is making me say ’’wow’’ to it. And I do like IPAs

Pours cloudy red with very good lacing and head. Pretty unbalanced. Tastes like something has gone wrong and it doesn’t seem like the age - not sure how much better it would be fresh. Not much hops, but then again it’s old. Mostly malt with a light dose of floral hops. Not sure what the whole 90 minute marketing is, but this certainly isn’t Dogfish head. Bottle at volos.

Bouteille 341ml. De couleur cuivrée-ambrée foncée et claire. Nez de houblon citrique, moyennement terreux, légèrement résineux et aux notes herbeuses, malté de caramel butterscotch, léger de pain avec des notes fruitées (agrumes) et de noix. Moyenne-mince en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture léger-moyen crémeuse avec des notes huileuses. Goût moyennement amer de houblon citrique, moyennement terreux et légèrement floral (une amertume présente toute la gorgée) accompagné d’un léger goût fruité (agrumes) ainsi que de traces de cuir lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût malté de caramel (un mélange de toffee et de butterscotch) avec un moyen goût de pain aux faibles notes grillées ainsi que des traces de biscuits puis en finale l’amerttume de houblon reprend en force en se faisant, aséchante, plus herbeuse et légèrement résineuse et quelques notes de noix sont également perspectibles. Post-goût long et un peu sec, moyen-amer de houblon citrique, herbeux, moyennement terreux et aux notes résineuses avec un léger goût de noix et des notes fruitées (zeste d’agrumes).

Purchased a mixed 12-pack of "Les Connaisseurs" beers from this brewery. Watch out for the overflow. Pours a clean dark amber colour with a warm cap that is creamy-frothy, creating a foamy lace after staying quite a long time. Caramel aromas with some notes of hop (mild pine). Medium-bodied mouthfeel. Malty taste with the nice bitterness getting a bit stronger in the finish, and a beautiful dryness lingers, quite a while. Hints of butterscotch also appears in the background. A decent IPA that has more hop bite in the mouth than in the nose.

Bottle: Poured a medium copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bitter hops with some resin and piney notes as well. Taste is a nice mix between some dry caramel malt with notes of bitter hops with a balance between some citrus and resin notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Solid offering while not straying too far from the style.

A reddish copper ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, a superb citrus pulp and pinhey hops, flowers, just superb and classic. In mouth, a smooth caramel malt with load of floral hops, a bit simple but good, light grapefruits, a bit unbalanced but good. On tap at Brouhaha, June 17 2011.
