0.44 l can from Spicy Days, Zagreb. Shared with Pliš and Marko. Dark reddish purple to brown, small off-white head. Sour fruit jam, prunes, dried fruit but sour, cherry, hints of honey and spices. Sour fruit, coffee, metal, alcohol hidden. Medium body, moderate carbonation, light finish. Makes sense.

Canned, thanks Hrabren for sharing with AJ and me. Misty dark brown body, traces of an off-white head. Kettle sour and oaky notes, raisins, fairly tart. Tart taste, kettle sour with some thick but simplistic maltiness, maybe trace raisins, maaaaaybe. I mean... what's the point - who actually finds this enjoyable? I mean - impressively hidden alcohol, but the concept is just off.

Can, 0.44l. Deep murky brown/red pour, no head. Minimal lacing. Sour fruity nose, cherries, candy, notes of caramel and toffee. Medium body, lively carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture, somewhat lightweight, fizzy. Balanced sour and sweet taste. Aroma of cherry candy, caramel and toffee, berries, dried fruits. Citric notes. Moderately sticky. Well hidden alcohol. Medium lasting finish, dry and tart. Not bad.

Best before 22/01/2023, Batch 439, 440ml can brewed at Tanker; purchased at La Cave à Bières d’Etre Gourmet online shop;

APPEARANCE: dark caramel & brown color with a lot of ruby, red & cherry like hues, mild chil haze, small ring of “dirty” head;

AROMA: prominent and clean kettle sour aroma, lactic but not to sharp, lemon juice, tart apples, low oxidation note in form of dry cardboard, quad as a base beer is fairly restrained, mild sour bread dough, toasted sweetness of caramel & brown sugar, mild dried fruit esters on the edges, figs, cherry and hints of dates, sweet bread, mild brown cookie with cacao powder, very faint cinnamon, alcohol is hidden, no obvious hop profile

TASTE: moderate carbonation, medium light to medium body, fairly tart & sour but not puckering, mouthwatering and moderate dry and lactic finish; disturbing component before aftertaste, probably from kettle sourness and hop bitterness; as suggested in the aroma, kettle sourness stands out so there is not much of quad base, low to light brown sugars sweetness, soggy bread, bread crust, butterscotch, white wine note, hints of wet cardboard in a first few sips, notes of cocoa powder and tart coffee beans here and there, light bitterness suggesting at juniper berries; very low roast note and barley coffee in the second half of the can; no obvious sign of alcohol

OVERALL: if you like kettle sour profile go for it, otherwise to clean and straight forward for usually complex and rich beer style called Quadrupel; definitely refreshing character from sourness and no sign of alcohol but lacks in sweetness just to balance out sourness

Canned 440ml. -from Spicy Days Zagreb. Red/brown coloured, small off-white head, some toffee and whiff of fruits in the nose. Caramel, toffee, some berries and notes of gooseberry with discreet cannamon touch. Not for my taste.

Can picked up from Etre Gourmet, online Webshop, Grez-Doiceau, Belgium, (I think?). Had this Sunday 13th September 2020 in company of Xenofon, Anastasia, Andy at meal provided by Xenofons parents. Pours murky puddle brown colour with an off white head. Zappy, tart fruits, reminds me a little of a Rodenbach or similar, wet wood, sour cherries, really like this.

Can from Deconinck. Dark brown colour, white foam. Rather tart, some vinegar notes, vinous, a bit woody. More a Vlaams Bruin than a quad. A bit onedimensional, not very complex.

1 March 2020. At Dok Brewing Company, with the lovely Anke. Pours hazy brown-amberish with a thin, tan head. Aroma of toffee, raisin, dried banana, red apple, green tea with sugar, brioche, redcurrant. Taste has sweetish raisin, plum, unripe red apple & sourish redcurrant over a solid caramelly & cake-like maltiness, soft herbal touch. Dryish, tart, slightly herbal hoppy finish, more red apple, cake & toffee & a hint of liqueur alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Doesn't really know where it's going but base beer is good; would like to revisit the canned version too.

Brown with thin head. Aroma has forest fruits and plummy cakey notes. Flavour is similar but with tart citrus lime juice.
