The Triple Secret des Moines brune offers a shiny mahogany brown dress crowned with a thick moss with light beige tint.
It reveals a subtle and complex aromatic palette, malty notes of caramel, coffee and chocolate. The hopping with carefully selected hops gives it slightly citrus notes that combine perfectly with the chocolate notes.

330ml bottle. Poured a clear dark chestnut brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is burnt toffee, treacle, over-ripe red berry fruits. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, slightly roasty, sweet fruit, treacle toffee palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

330 ml bottle, from Føtex Hjørring. ABV is 8%. Brewed by Brasserie Goudale, Arques, France. Dark brown colour, small off-white to beige head. Aroma of malts, brown sugar, caramel and dark dried fruits, hints of mild spices. Flavour with the same elements, but not quite as sweet as I feared. Moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Pours nearly clear dark ruby / copper brown wit airy but stable beige head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of yeast and touches of spice. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweetish notes of caramel malt and touches of yeast. Roasty and estery aftertaste with acidic hints. Okay.

Bottle, 8%. Dusty and faintly bready aroma with a whiff of metal. Clear dark brown colour. Good stable creamy light brown head. The flavour is roasted at first, turning bready, and finishing with brown sugar and a little metal. A fairly unpleasant bitterness in the aftertaste.

33 cl bottle poured in a Tulip. Dark amber colour with a bubbly off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, over ripe fruits, prunes and yeasts. Liquorice. Taste is sweet. Medium bodied. Slightly drying fruity finish with fruity notes. Given the modest price tag, this was a pleasent surprise.
