The light burned malts give it the deep golden blonde colour. The spicy hops give it the fresh bitter taste. After the brewing process the beer is fermented for 14 days. During the second fermentation it is lagered so the beer gets a fuller flavour. This lagering takes a long period when an alcohol percentage of 7.2% ABV is reached.

Donker geel bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is zoet en krachtig, vanille, peer en kaneel. Niet het standaard kerst bier maar toch best goed. Smaak blijft redelijk lang hangen.

330 ml bottle. Clear golden body with a big, fluffy white head. Aroma is grainy with a hint of spices, caramel, yeast and esters. Flavor is rather sweet, pale malt, spicy yeast, fruity in general and alcohol. OK body with a medium aftertaste that’s sweet and alcoholic. I have had this beer a few times now and it has not impressed me much previous. For some reason I found it quite pleasant this time, nothing extraordinary really, but both tasty and refreshing in a sweet way. Forget about the Christmas thing, it’s closer to think of it as a Trippel.

Classic blonde Christmas beer with peach blonde colour and snow white, fluffy head. Malt sweet aroma with agreeable spicy notes, peachy fruitiness, white candi sugar, honey, grassy hops; fruity taste, malt sweet, a bit yeasty and bready with nice spiciness and herbally hoppy finish with some warming alcohol. Well-balanced and a welcome deviation from the Scotch-style Christmas ales, I liked this.

Fin kompleks, luftig fylde med tydelige preg av belgisk lys sterk øl. Gjærens preg skinner igjennom, muligens også litt villgjær.

Bottle at home. Has a clear, straw color with a creamy, white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, grass, marzipan, citrus, wet hay and some spices. Sweet flavor with more grass, Belgian yeast and citrus. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A decent, fresh and well-balanced Belgian ale.

33cl bottle: BBD 30 Jan 16, poured into a Westmalle chalice at home on 26 Dec 14. Nice clear and bright body, golden and clean, on top a white blanket that soon became a sheet and then a wisp and collar within a minute of pouring. Sweet, light malty nose, mild spice hints maybe. The taste more fruity than the aroma suggests, again on the malty sweet side and with traces of spices. Not as deep flavoured as I had hoped, not a lot of Christmas type notes to get me excited, OK, but just not Christmassy.

23.12.2014, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Small mediumlasting head, very light color. Aroma is slightly grainy, cereal, light malts, weeds, hay, dried grain, hints of nuts. Taste is harsh, cereal, yeast, hay, weeds, harsh grass, light malts, minerals, nuts. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh mouthfeel, high carbonation. Boring, and nothing Christmasy at all...
