The latest installment in our long-running “Hello My Name is…” series. Brewed in collaboration with Jeppe from Evil Twin Brewing, this beer has been fittingly named after Jeppe’s mum … because she’s a Danish woman and that’s kind of how this series works. Single hopped with Mosaic and loaded with well over 100kg of blueberries, this big fruity hop bomb is everything you want in a woman. Or a man. Come say ‘Hi’ to Sonja!

Thx! to Kraddel. 33 cl. bottle sampled. BBF 09/10/2014. Pale & clear golden, little head. Nose is pretty sweet for an IIPA, way too sweet even, sweet pine resin hops here mixed with quite a bit of dough, white sugar & caramel. There is quite a bit of hops here but it is all a bit oddly sweet. Taste is bitter pine resin mixed with white sugar, sweet dough, caramel, toffee, touch herbal, hay,... I is all sweet & oily. This is a basic & okay IIPA which is fine if they didn’t charge a surplus because it has a lot of blueberries which I am not getting at all. It seems like the fruits fermented all out & made this stuff sweeter but other than that. If you put blueberry on something, I need to be able to taste it. This is my 3rd beer from the series & 3rd time I am not getting any fruit, I call this a rip-off honestly. It is an okay-ish IIPA & thus the score. Just for that, not keeping the promise in mind.

Bottle from Cornelius. Clear golden body with a thick off-white head. Lively carbonation. Light lacing. Stunning aroma of blueberries, lavender, passionfruit, mango and lemongrass. Flavour doesn’t quite live up to the power and complexity of the aroma, but it packs a tropical fruit punch nonetheless. Deceptively drinkable for 8.2% ABV. Thin to medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. A unique, fruity DIPA that I would definitely have again.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar, October 2013. Dark golden with a small white head. Aroma and taste of some herbs, fruit, malt, citrus, some alcohol. Not as fruity as expected. Still a descent beer.

On tap at Brewdog, Shoreditch, Saturday 26th October 2013 Pours copper in colour to my eyes, but quite dark in here, good clarity with a snall white head. Robust malty and hoppy beer sweet but then a light almost casual dryness, like it is unintended. Full flavoured in mouth fruity sourness, alcohol sits quite heavily. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Draft. An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and citrusy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, citrusy hops, and malt, leading to a dry bitter finish, where the alcohol is felt on the palate.

Bottle from BrewDog Shoreditch. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The nose sweet, juicy blueberry, pine, light toast and grapefruit. The taste is crisp, bitter, resinous, juicy berry, red grape, passion fruit, grapefruit, light fruity tartness, toast and grass with a dry, very bitter finish. Medium body and medium+ carbonation. Nice bitterness and very drinkable given the abv.
