The BBA variant of our so beloved Coffee Connaisseur, moi?. Five months aging on Four Roses barrels has given the beer mostly extra vanille notes and an even thicker body and mouthfeel. This one is, off course, also with Nitro gas, so don't forget to shake the can and Hard Pour!

Pours pitch black with a creamy light brown head that has good retention. Aroma's: coffee, roast, toffee, cream, mocha. Retronasal: big coffee, light fruit, molasses, light booze, roast. Flavour is above moderate sweet, hopjes. Quite strong alcoholfeel. Body is not as full as expected (and promised), and bourbon is not really noticeable. Long finish, sweet, coffee, roasty. Nice!

Connaissant les arômes francs et très appréciables du Coffe Connaisseur Moi?, l'alliance avec du bourbon ne pouvait être que sympathique. Encore fallait-il que le vieillissement en fût soit réussie...ce qui est le cas ici avec un bon équilibre bourbon/café et un alcool à 13 % restant bien intégré. On retrouve cependant les limites de la base sur cette version à savoir une complexité limitée, et un final un peu court. Mais le vieillissement en fût améliore le stout d'une belle façon, tout d'abord aromatiquement avec le bourbon, avec une vivacité accrue sur l'alcool et une final amélioré et un peu plus long. Sur le visuel, rien de plus avec une robe noire et une mousse brune s'estompant rapidement. Au nez, c'est net et sans bavure, café et Bourbon ! Un léger poivre vient compléter la palette à l'attaque. Je ne suis toujours pas fan cependant de cette texture très fine. La deuxième bouche est sur des arômes francs et directs, mais avec une très belle élégance de par l'amertume bien poussée, un sucre pas trop présent et un alcool bien maitrisé, racé mais pas agressif. L'arrière bouche est d'ailleurs un peu plus sur l'alcool, tonique mais toujours bien intégré. Le final, bien que pas désagréable, manque d'un brin de brillance. Sympathique.

Can picked up from Speciaalbierpakket, Leiden, Netherlands drinking this sat outside at home Attenkirchen Wednesday 20th May 2020, weather is good, sunshine and white clouds however we are still into CORVID-19 enforced lockdown, had Spaghetti Carbonara for tea, on the phone to my brother. Pours black with a tan head, wow this is 13%. Very smooth, really soft creamy mouthfeel. The aroma is bourbon and roast malts. Taste also bourbon, roasty but with vanilla, coffee and a pleasant nuttiness. Very easy drinking for the abv, in fact still cannot quite believe that this is 13%. A very nice beer.

33cl can. A black beer with a beige head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, bitter coffee beans, espresso. Taste of sweet dark chocolate malt, vanilla, bourbon, some wood, sugar, liquorice, boozy.

0.33 l can from 'Speciaalbierpakket.nl', canned in March 2020. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of praline, coffee, bourbon, some vanilla and a touch of dark fruits. Fairly sweet, malty, gently roasty-bitter taste of praline, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, hazelnut and a touch of raisins, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy and a little warming finish. Full body, smooth and gently creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely thick bourbon coffee syrup, a real treat, delicious!

Can. Color: Black, mocha head. Aroma: Roasted malt, coffee, Bourbon. Taste: Roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, Bourbon notes. Pretty subtle BA. Very smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden. Smooth alcoholic vanilla coffee. Nice one.

Can. Black pour. Aroma of rich fruity roasted coffee, bourbon vanilla, caramel fudge, chocolate, roasted malt and dates. Taste has smooth bourbon vanilla, fruity roasted coffee, caramel fudge, bitter roasted malt, booze, raisin, dates, chocolate and a long rich boozy finish. Reminds me of KBS. Fantastic beer, they hit the bulls eye with this one.
