The pleasant, dark Doppelbock of monasterial origin, especially suited for festivities during the chilly season.
Typical for the Maximator is the full-bodied, pithy and pronounced body, coated with a fine and velvety refraction.
Due to the use of dark malt produced in the barn malt house, the light sweetness is surrounded by toasty cocoa notes.
The finish is smooth, with a lingering note of dark chocolate.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Andover Classic Wines. Appearance is clear, red-amber with fair sparkle, crackling ephemeral fizzy off-white head and no lacing. Aroma is strong, rich molasses/brown bread, brown sugar, and hint of dark fruit. Taste is as aroma along with European hop earthy bitterness balance. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and somewhat dry finish as taste. Overall, nice representative of the style. Not cloyingly sweet.

0.5 l bottle from 'Biermuda', best before July 2018. Clear, ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, light beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, raisins, brown sugar and molasses. Fairly sweet, malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, molasses, some raisins and a touch of nuts, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little dry and a bit warming finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite pleasant but not very deep, pretty average Doppelbock.
