330mL bottle, pours a murky, cloudy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet and boozy, with notes of amaretto liqueur, sweet candied sugar, toffee, and dried dark fruits. Flavour features a blend of sweet dark fruits, again the amaretto liqueur and toasted nuts, being a lot sweeter and more liqueur like than most doppelbocks I know of, though not overly cloying. Too much on the sweet and liqueur side for my liking - missing some of the dry toasted body that I desire in this style. Decent, but flawed.

330ml bottle. Dubbelbock label. Pours a slightly murky red/brown with light head. Aromas of roasted malts, caramel, over ripe dark fruit, and more than a bit horsey. Flavors of roasted malts, brown sugar, leather and dates. A little watery but nonetheless very nice.

Bottle - Malts, raisins and chocolate dominate. Cloudy amber with a thick head that sticks around. Rich chocolate and raisin with a bit of a bite. Dark fruits finish with mild alcohol. A nice beer for sure but a bit heavy.

33cl bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy red color, medium sized beige head. Smell malts, raisin, light alcohol. Taste malts, raisin, dark fruits, some sweet-bitterness. Medium to full body, medium carbonation.

Bottle @ benzai. Amber colour with a big off-white head. Smells raisins (very much), alcohol, somehow whisky. Tastes quite watery, thin, bit sweet, some raisins. Surprised by how thin it is. Soft carbo, thin body.

shared a bottle with 77 ships. smells fresh ( like an IPA) taste reminds me of an IPA also, fresh, bitter, yet also very sweet ( the chocolat is definetly there) so a real sweet, refreshing brew. maybe a bit over the top in sweetness, maybe a bit strange, yet not bad at all !

330ml bottle [Dubbelbock]. Minimally cloudy brown colour with huge macropore to frothy beige head. Surprising somewhat grainy, husky aroma with a touch of old dried up bicycle chain oil. Taste is more expectable: Minimally sweet dark malty, a bit toasty and nuttily, a touch of caramel. Finish is dry and his this old oil note again. Lively carbonation is too much for this style in my opinion.

3rd December 2009 Pigs Ear. Cloudy brown beer. Reasonably sized biscuit coloured head. Milk chocolate and malt nose. Very slightly sour. A little lactose sweetness. Finishes incredibly light and dry. Lighter than a feather!

A 2010 bottle. Tangy fruits and caramel from the oxidisation, but its oxidised in a good way. If you have one of these, drink now!
