Bottle. Super hazy grayish amberish liquid with fast dissipating medium egg white head. Aroma of citrus peel, grain, yuzu, white pepper, spices and light pineapple. Taste is dry and light sour with notes of lemon, pineapple juice, light grain and light white pepper. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Maybe a bit too old as it’s not very bright anymore. Nice still.

Bottle, shared at Bruce’s. Odd slow gusher with red streaks spewing out of it initially! In the glass it pours cloudy pale gold with a quickly dissipating white head. The nose is earthy, light sulphur, mouldy wood, faint smoke and armpit. The taste is earth, mouldy, damp wood, tart fruit, pithy lemon, light soap, spice, nectarine, apricot and light alcohol with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Thankfully the taste makes up (a bit) for the dodgy aroma. Pretty fantome all-round. I.e. unusual/weird.

’Paul takes a brown shower’ tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks Paul. Weird looking beer - a moderate gusher, it foamed pale cream with scarlet streaks like it was bleeding. Very odd. When eventually in the glass it is cloudy gold. Palate is light and chalky dry. Light geueze sourness with an off soapy streak. Semi dry finish. Pretty grim.

Bottle at Bruce’s, London - big thanks to Paul. Pours cloudy, soupy gold with very little head. Nose has a lot of grapefruit in the nose, urine; smells good, really. Light to medium sweet flavor, plenty of tangy citrus, more grapefruit, tangerine, a bit of Tang drink, slight herbs. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lightly tangy finish, citrus fruits, grapefruit and tangerine, hints of pee, suggestions of bubblegum. Novel and quite tasty.

Bottle on random Wednesday. Pours gold in first glass and then gets cloudier and muddier with each pour. Nose of peeled grapes, honey, malt, yeast, mixed florals, exotic and tropical fruits and hints of thyme or sage. Taste is same, but a bit muted. Later in the bottle there are peach notes. Finishes with mixed spices. Medium body.

The 6th beer in the Fantôme tasting spree.

Thx! to Tim for sharing this one. 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2013. Very pale golden. Smell is very floral, funky, horse blanket, herbal with flowers,… Taste is floral, bit oxidized, herbal, fair amount of yeast and spice, nectar and flowers, light mustiness, hay, touch forest. Body is lightly thinned out. Very nice but not as top as the 12 was.
