Draft - Grassy and citrus hops with grains. Cloudy yellow with a thin but rich head. Lemony, bitter and soapy. Just not good for me, which is too bad considering I love Hardcore. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 30.01.2009
Aroma is hoppy with exotic fruits, some gooseberry bush and citrus. Flavour is a bit stale and stuffy with grapefruit, gooseberry bush, some caramel and biscuits. A bit ashy finish. Nice aroma but that just isn’t enough.

0,33 flaske. Nydelig humlearoma. Stor munnfylde preget av bl.a citrus og kiwi. En superlettdrikkelig pale ale. Farlig god.

Brown 330ml bottle, best before 15th Aug 2009, drank late April 2009 during a ’Pale Ale’ tasting day at my house, with just me tasting. Poured vigorously into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru stemmed tulip glass. Dull orange and misty body, white thin head that stuck to the glass more than it stuck to the beer! Hops and Oranges in the aroma, was the colour clouding my nose? Definately the sweeter end of the citrus fruit range of smells, so Oranges it is, although it could have been Pink Grapefruit I suppose. The aforementioned Pink Grapefruit aroma is very evident in the taste, tangy, sharp and on the sour side compared to the smell. An interesting taste and not unpleasant. The 6% alcohol is well hidden although it does appear as the mouth drys between gulps. There is also a dryness that comes very early in the mouthfeel, simular to when eating Grapefruit. The bitterness comes out as the mouth drys too. Luckily I like Grapefruits and fairly dry beers, so for me this was a good beer. I can see why some would shun it, but don’t, give it a try.

"I bought this from The Beverage King in Lebanon, NH. Paid about $8 for it. It was the last one on the shelf. I got home and realized the label: Batch 428, Best Before 29-12-11. I’m 1 month too late on the best by date. My review takes in account that this beer is no longer fresh. However, I don’t mind a beer that’s not so fresh given it’s retired. I’m pretty excited to try it. Poured into a Dogfish Head Signature glass at around 40 Degrees F A - It pours a hazy yellow pour. This is a super cloudy beer. 1.5 finger head that is the same color as the beer. S - I smell some sort of candy. Like a caramel candy corn. There’s a lot of honey. This beer smells very sweet. T - Mild carbonation. I can certainly tell that this beer is not as fresh as it good be but it’s surprisingly good. Most of the heat and carbonation has faded and a lot of honey and syrup notes are left over. There’s something off about it but it is 1 month beyond its best by date. M - The mouthfeel is overall pretty weak but I won’t penalize it though. Honestly, I can tell how this was a pretty damn fine beer but the age of it is just not becoming. O - I’d like to have this again. It’s a nice solid IPA. 6% is a very manageable ABV and it’s not over the top bitter. Nice job, Brew Dog."

Golden, small head. Grapefruit, both aroma and taste. Bitter, some fruitiness. A decent and fresh IPA.

bottle. pretty solid. has an unique IPA style that is common to brewdog - quite different from the American IPA styles I’m accustomed to.

$5.99 for a bomber bottle @ my local Market Basket. Date on label reads, 12- 8 - 12. Ok, so it may be a bit old but… I’m drinking it anyway! And maybe I should head back to the Market and grab the other 3 bottles they have…. Ok, anyway. Hazy gold in a shaker glass. Huge fluffy full head. Great lace. Pleasant fruity hop nose. Pineapple and grapefruit. Enticing aroma. Flavor starts out quite hoppy, and then mellows out. Maybe the age toned it down. Nice hop blend. I get a little bit of everything, grapefruit, lemon and a touch of resin. The hops do linger in the finish. However I get more, juicy hop taste then bitterness. This is a wonderfully crafted IPA. I want to try the other version now!
