Tap at the Old Coffee House, 16/05/13. Lightly hazed golden with a good sized white head that retains well. Nose is hops, pine, grapefruit, biscuit, caramel. Taste comprises caramel, hops, light booze, orange, grapefruit, subtle coffee backnotes that blend in well with the other flavours. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, bittersweet finish. Good stuff.

Keg: half-pint in Brodies King William 1V on 16 Feb 2013. As the name suggests this is a coffee ladened brew. Colour is an orangey gold: head was white, thought the beer might pour looking coffeeish, but it didn’t. The coffee does however take over the smell and taste, with the Chinook hops only taking a bit part in the proceedings. The body was waxy and creamy: being a coffee fan this was most enjoyable and the alcohol content was nicely hidden within the flavours.

1/2 Pint Keg @ King William IV. Bright golden, orange with stunning lacing, white head. Nose is sweet full roast blended with creamy USA hops, citrus, pine, fruity, tad exotic. Taste is sweet roast, coffee with some more bitter grainy coffee roast going into exotic fruits, oranges, pine, mellon, very sweet creamy, almost jam, bitter pine in the back. Very creamy body, outstanding.

Keg at PSBH, 30th August 2012. Too much coffee alround, this for me is a novelty style of beer, small glass as a taste was plenty

Keg at the Hope, Carshalton. It pours hazy amber, with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is pine, green coffee beans, fruity, playdough and bubblegum. The taste is roasty, rich coffee, charcoal, acidity, fruity, pine, grass and grapefruit with a bitter-roasted finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Strong coffee character for sure. I am not a great fan of this style, but this a flavoursome beer nonetheless.

Keg at King William IV, London. Pours rich gold with a light, white head. Nose is almost all coffee, filter coffee, authentic. Medium to big sweet flavor with nice coffee character, light roast, some toast and bitter grapefruit. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Light warmth in the finish, with plenty more coffee, some grass, florals and pine, toasty malts. Extremely good. I’m not always a fan of coffee IPAs, but this was a stunner.
