Bottle at Abbaye - Hazy orange coloured, medium sized head. Orange and lemon in aroma along with wheat notes. Flavour is weaker than normal Orval but still pleasant enough.

Nice little brother of Orval. More accesible than Orval. Nice bitterness, citrus and hops. But also a bit watery.

Slightly hazy amber colour, firm off-white head. Aroma of hops, malty, light candy sugar, grass, yeast, citrus, lots of american hops. Bitter hoppy flavour, fresh malty sweet. Finish is bitter, hops, quite American hops.
Very fresh, almost ’green’ in flavour and aroma. It’s lighter than regular Orval, but doesn’t seem lacking the body. It was better than both the fresh and aged Orval at Ange Gardien, but it was also much fresher. This would definitely be my session beer of choice!

2009 bottle at DHVL. It pours clear amber, with a decent white head. The nose is hay, farmyard, wood, spicy yeast and a touch of caramel. The taste is farmyard, dough, hay, herbal, spice and a hint of citrus, with a dry finish. Light body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Really just a thinner, toned-down regular Orval.

Bottle at DHL. Hazy golden color, thick white head. Typical Orval aroma of sourdough and rye bread dough and yeast. Taste has orange peel, coriander, white pepper, raw bread dough. Soft sourness. Nice stuff.

Bottle: Poured a dirty beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light barnyard notes with dry hops and some light tart notes also noticeable. Taste is also a very nice mix between some barnyard notes with some tart notes and a dry lightly hoppy finish. Body is more watery then the regular version with great carbonation. Still very much good though I can feel that this is a watered down version of the original.

2008 bottle. Clear amber with a big and lasting white head. Lots of brett,m barnyard and grapefruit, in the aroma. Sweetish with a drying tartness. Clearly thinner than the regular.

Bottle Clear, blond to amber body. Off-white head. Aroma of hops, grass and some malts. Moderately bitter flavour, but somewhat weak. Quite nice anyway.

(Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm) Pale amber colour with brief, white head. Fruity, spicy nose with notes of citrus peel, yeast and slightly earthy hops. Fruity, spicy taste with hints of citrus, yeast and spicy hops. Light body with a generous, spicy bitterness in a dry finish. Lots of character considering the low abv. Nice beer.

Bottle: Poured a clear copper color with a creamy off white head. The aroma is a light fruit. The taste is smooth grain, malt, and light hop. Very impressive for a low ABV, do the monks know what they are doing or what?
