500 ml bottle, now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet). ABV is 9.0%. Pitch black colour, big brown head. Very nice aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. The flavour has heavily roasted malts galore (bordering on cremation), also liquorice, tar and extremely strong coffee. There is also a huge hoppy bitterness from start to finish, and the alcohol is noticeable. The flavour is overall a bit of an "overkill", could have been better balanced. Still quite impressive, a small glass of this beer could stand in for a cup of espresso after dinner. Improves a bit as the beer warms up, a certain sweetness comes through, to balance (some of) the bitterness.

Bottle at Chris_o birthday bash 08. Black with thin tan head. Eucalyptus and roasted malt. Some soy sauce, some heat, and hop. Pretty good impy stout. It is good, lovely in fact. Good hops and good malt flavours.

250ml draught at Plan B, Copenhagen. Short brownish layer over a deep ink-black body. Very rich in aroma and flavour. Dark fruits and notes of liquorice in aroma. Dark hopped flavour paired with bitter chocolate and roasted coffee beans. Spices play a part, too. Winey mouthfeel and full bodied. Pretty masked alcohol. A real pleasure to drink this one (02.06.2008).

(Re-rate, draught, 9 %, at Pikkulintu on 2008-09-05) Black. Medium sized brown quite quickly disappearing head. Hops, roasted malts and coffee in nose. Full bodied palate with medium carbonation. Coffee, hops, bit of chocolate, some liquorice and bit of alcohol in taste. (Bottle at Pikkulintu on 2008-01-24) Very full bodied. Roasted malts in taste, lots. Hops balance the malts pleasantly. Really good Imperial Stout. (Rating was 8+4+8+3+17=>4)

Draught. Deep rubyish brown colour, very close to black. Mediumsized brown head. Aroma is toffee, roasted malts, some alcohol and mild notes of hops and chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, alcohol, mild sourness with coffee and chocolate taking over closer to the finish. Aftertaste is mainly chocolate, coffee and roast. WOW!

Pitch black color, small expresso head. Licorice and coffee in the nose. Same beer as Double Imperial Stout, but with less alcohol. Flavor has black tyres, licorice and burned malts. Balanced, easier and then more enjoyable than Double IS.

Balck with huge brown head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, chocolate, hops and coffee notes. Sweet flavor that holds notes of chocolate, coffee, hops, vanilla and roasted malt. Ends bitter. Very nice stuff!

Draught at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen
Dark color, creamy head. Nice aroma, fresh, of roasted malt, cardboard, hops. Good body strength, powerful malt, more than the caramel and a roasted malt line (therefore, better for me). Strong hopping, not disturbing, partially aromatic, but also caramel and roasted malt in the final. Fresh, atypical Imperial Stout.
