330ml bottle @ PBF IX
Pours pitch black with a smooth head. Aroma of dark chocolate. roasty malts, mocha and syrup, hints of cellary notes. Taste is sweet, roasty and dark chocolatey with notes of syrup, mocha and ripe fruits. Finish is sweetish and roasty with some dark chocolate. Okay, feels a bit old though.

Bottled, thanks baggio! Black, dark brown head. Rich aroma of coffee, pear and tar. Mid sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Intensely flavourful with dark chocolate, tar and coffee. Warming finish. nice imperial stout with a full array of flavours without getting oversized.

26/XII/13 - 330ml bottle @ home, 2nd Christmas tasting - BB: 16/V/14 (2013-1186) Thanks to Bo for bringing the bottle to Belgium!
Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy irregular beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: mocha, coffee, grains, roasted malts, little fruity. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: dark chocolate, some caramel, bit sweet, mocha, bit of coffee, little sour, liquorice, red berries. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, coffee, dark chocolate, subtle sweetness, bitter hops, some blueberries, cocoa powder. Man, this is an amazing beer! Way too expensive, I'll give you that, but a very nice beer!

Dark brown, has a fudgey version of an impy nose - like a suped up version of reg stout. Fudgey, a little rich malt sting, a mellow impy.

Bottle 330 ml at Pumphouse, Sydney, on July 11, 2013.BB 21.06.14.Large hiss when opened, builds up a huge head. The excessive head build up gets boring fast. Initially at least seems to have a very high co2 level. Black color, brown head after it settles to a nice creamy top with loads of lacing. Sweet, hoppy, some wet tobacco scent. Sweet, bitter, dry cocoa taste. Some alcohol aftertaste, also bitter chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a near black one with a nice brown chocolate top. It smells of green banana, wet cardboard, a bit "wild" I guess you can say and slightly coffee-like also. A bit, hmm, let's say strange and not to impressive. Definitely not what I was expecting from a beer of this caliber. The flavor is a bit acidic, quite different from a dark wild thing. It's definitely over carbonated. Foaming sensation in the throat with some coffee, soft chocolate and something slightly herbal. 26.12.2012

33 cl. bottle split - thx. to Kraddel / Dylan. Finally an Australian beer - it sure took a while and I know that I could have just gotten a Fosters but Australia supposedly has good craft beer and I wanted to try a good one. For some reason Catwoman is pictured on the label - looks pretty stupid. Black with a nicely lacing brown head. This is quite hoppy stuff, fresh bottle - lots of NZ hops in here, kiwi, white grapes, litchi, damn, also mocha, chocolate and booze - colour me intrigued. Light round roast taste, bitter, much heavier mocha, chocolate, quite bitter with still some NZ hops, lighter than in the nose, lots of ice coffee, still pretty damn hoppy, oily nuts - medium oily bodied - an interesting one that is for sure - Australia I salute thee

0/07/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (330ml bottle).
