Almost black beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has caramel maltyness, vanilla, some bourbon, dried fruitness, prune, sophisticated. Taste has caramel, dried fruits, vanilla, wood, raisin. Medium+ bodied, smooth. Very interesting beer, stong barreling, but it's so balanced.

Bottle picked up from Biervana, München and consumed at Camping Resort Zugspitze, Grainau, Nr Garmisch Partenkirchen, Wednesday 10th June 2020, cooking Pastitsio and listening to Idles - Brutalism. Pours dark reddy brown, actually maybe not reddy at all just dark brown with light tan head. Big malty, rich beer, fruity, tastes like a big Barley Wine to me. Wow I knocked this back quite quickly not for one minute realising that it's 12.6%. It's a strong rich beer, plenty of whisky kicking about. Good but never really hooked me in.

Just as good as I remember it, opening this baby up whiskey shoots into your nose, full bodied and sweet sweet whiskey notes. No booze, just flavor. I wish this was the default brown ale flavor but I imagine barrels are expensive! So much rye vanilla note

On tap at Crescent Moon, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is intense, with heaps of rye whiskey barrels, earthy notes and caramel bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very assertive flavour profile, with whiskey barrels, spicy rye and caramel. Bordering on brutal, but the flavours are quite nice and certainly cohesive. Very good.
