We took all the delicious beans that normally go into this complex and special stout, and let them sit in freshly emptied rum barrels for half a year. What came out is beyond what we could have hoped for - high notes of vanilla and spiced rum that are backed up with a rich, chocolaty body with hints of coconut, and a smooth, barrel-aged finish that is uniquely tonka-forward.
Cans from 2020 also at an ABV of: 12,5%

330 ml can, as Lervig Barrel Aged 3 Bean Stout (Rum Barrels). Way is not mentioned on the label. ABV is 13.4%. Available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, large brown head. Intense aroma of tonka beans (which do not belong in any beer), vanilla and cocoa, also spiced rum. Extremely (sickly) sweet and alcoholic flavour with the same elements, tonka beans and spices dominate, some bittering hops. Cloying, unbalanced. Nearly undrinkable for me.

330ml can (thanks Will). Pours black with a tan head, great retention. Aroma of intense tonka, chocolate, vanilla, almond, cherry, marzipan. Taste is incredibly rich, sweet, tonka, chocolate, almond, cherry, vanilla, rum, oak, mild spice and dark fruits. Full bodied, thick, smooth. Absolutely amazing beer, and a superb example of where barrel ageing adds to the original beer.
