Saddle Black is our gnarly black beer using Pilgrim, Chinook and Cascade hops to help give a full smoky and citrus aroma. The roasted malts used to craft this full flavoured black beer will give a taste of chocolate and espresso, whilst the use the of smoked malt gives saddle black a well-rounded finish. With aromas are a mix of black pepper, deep fruits, orange and spices. The mouthfeel is full bodied and complex with a lingering bitter finish. IBU 65.

Can. Pours hazy very dark brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with notes of hops and mild touches of fruit. Bitter, roasty aftertaste with touches of hops and notes of bready malt and estery hints. Birtter, roasty aftertaste with nutty hints, A nice and well-balanced one.

Can, 5.8%. Weak fruity and roasted aroma. Almost black colour. Big stable creamy light brown head. The flavour is roasted and bready with a mild rye bread note. Good, mild, caramelly hoppiness. Quite flavourful and really good for its ABV.

Third by cask, shared with Finn at Purecraft. Ruby-black body, steady fawn-coloured head, laces well. Smell of brown malts, chocolate added by fruit. Well blended taste of choco-caramel and dark fruits. Hints of pine needles to the ending, nicely roasted. A good one. (Birmingham 03.02.2020).
