330ml bottle, thanks to Kolschtrinker. Pours dark, overly large tan head that took a while to settle down. Fairly big carbonation overall. Taste presents some deep liquorice, treacle, wood, some salty oyster notes carry through alongside some roasted malt. Decent, but the liquorice sweetness dominates and carbonation is too high.

From the bottle. Brown with a massive sudsy beige head that renders vain all efforts at careful pouring. Aroma of licorice, milk chocolate and beach. Taste is bittersweet up front but finishes quite sweet, almost syrupy, with cough medicine undertones. The oyster saltiness stays in the background. Medium body and carbonation, oily on the tongue. Not bad.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, lemon juice-basted clamshells. Taste is slightly bitter, roasty dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, a fresh touch of lemon juice-basted clamshells, minimally mineral, limescale overtones, a spicy touch of lovage, subtle residual dark malty sweetness; lingering, chocolately finish, minimally sticky palate even though minimally overcarbonated. Good intensity.

15-08-18 // 330ml bottle from bier. Karlsruhe thanks to a friend. Black with a beige head. Nose of dark roasted malts and breeze of seawater. Quite light bodied. Foamy fizzy mouthfeel, roasted malts, slightly salty.

(bottle, 33cl) Black coloured hue with a brown mid-sized foamy head. Moderately roasted malty aroma with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and traces of sea breeze. Moderately roasty bitter and delicately salty flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Earthy and moderately roasted malt character with chocolate and coffee flavours in a well-balanced way, leading into a rounded bitter-sweet finish. Very good. 31.V.18

Draught @ KCBD18. Pours hazy coffee brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with notes of coffee and touches of oysters. Sweetish flavour of malt and caramel, with notes of roast, coffee and oysters and touches of yeast and hints of dried fruit. Lingering, roasty and estery aftertaste. Decent.

Draught at KCBD18. Weak metallic aroma, and some sea. Are there oysters in the beer? Dark brown colour, seems clear. Small stable light brown head. The flavour is roasted with a faint smokey touch. Roasted finish, ever so slight hint of salty liquorice.

0.33 l bottle from 'Beyond Beer', best before December 2017. Pitch black with a medium large, slightly creamy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty aroma of milk chocolate, hazelnut, coffee and vanilla. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, hazelnut and vanilla, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very good Stout, starts off quite sweet and gets roastier towards the finish. Didn't get any Oysters.

Buddel: Literally black, medium-sized and very stable tanned head; moderate sweet-bitter toasty nose with caramelly and fruity spots; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and really smooth; drier lingering, slightly chocolatey, bitter-sweet finish. Very pleasant...
