Albert. Able. Gordo. Miss Baker. Bonny. Goliath. Between 1948 and 1961 these primate pioneers and others bravely went where no man had ever gone before, paving the way for manned U.S. spaceflight. This hoppy little monkey of a beer is a tribute to those Simian heroes of yesteryear. It has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, a strong malt body, and a crisp finish.

Can from TimE. Deep hazy orange to amber. Fruity nose, stone fruit, mandarin orange, melon. Quite a unique nose. Piny, caramel malt in the flavors, citrus, resins. Fruitiness less interesting than in the nose. Very bitter finish. Old school. Not bad.

Monday 30th Sep 2019; Shrewsbury Monthly Share in Chez Sophie. O bought this 12 fl oz can at the Great British Beer Festival to split with friends. Hazy orange body, decent white head. Piney and hoppy with citrus fruits playing along in the aroma and taste too. Semi-sweet orange flavours come to the fore as it warms a little.

Can at Kowaliga on Lake Martin. Amber with a frothy head. Aroma full of pine with honey undertones. Very bitter in taste. This is headache beer for me—a load of hops with no real malty base. No thanks.
