Lager’s typecast as refreshing, but capable of so much more. We’re proud to show off all the things our favourite beer style can be. Crisp and clean, of course, but also hoppy and juicy, like this little number. Ta-da!!

Can from Tesco, drunk at home. Light yellow almost straw. Tiniest bit hazy with a film of white head. Floral hop aroma with notes of lychee and white grape. Sweet, fruity taste with a long bitter finish. A very simple beer with quite a lot of flavour. Nice.

330ml can: BB 14th Jan 2020. Drank in the sun at home on 27th June 2019. Looks like a Lager, clear and clean golden pour, quickly fading white head. What's with all the citrusy hop shit? I hate it when brewers fanny around with styles like this.

Can. Tesco. Pale gold. Moderate haze. Streams of fine bubbles. Thin, fairly dense, lasting, white foam. Nose has bright citrus. Stewed hop leaf. Grainy malt. Whisper of savoury. Taste is sweet and fruity, with a robust, pithy, zesty bitterness. Medium body. Foamy carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish. Decent.

[33cl can from Tesco, WInkfield.] A hazy amber pour with a thick white head; tropical fruit aroma; fruity taste with pineapple and grapefruit; and a citrus finish. More like a pale ale than a lager.

Can from Tesco, Burnley. Golden-amber with a haze. If you're buying this beer purely on its name this is more juice than lager, and feels more pale ale in style. That said there's some lager character available.
