473ml can. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, and lacing, tan head. Chocolately, dark malty aroma, sweet-ish and minimally dusty notes of cocoa, milk chocolate, cautious, ephemeral, mellow, floral overtones; later minimally smoky and with a touch of liquorice. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty, notes of liquorice, cocoa, hints of espresso, burnt coffee, a touch of burnt caramel, cautious honey-like sweetness; hints of alcohol with a warming touch in the finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally sticky palate.

Can. Black. A tan head is son a coat. Aroma of mocha (mainly chocolate), brioche, light spices. Fullish bodied. Tastes much as it smells, except there's a burst of saucy caramel after a beat. Dry enough at the end with modest bitterness. Like the normal porter its quality straightforwardness is a big part of what's good about it, but perhaps that's a little less impressive in a much stronger beer. Only a little, though.

16 oz. can purchased at 7-11 Kittery, ME. Typical dark appearance. Aroma is mild coffee bean, mild roast, and weak chocolate. The flavor is a reflection of the aroma. The mouthfeel is about average and the alcohol is hidden. Overall, it is as it should be for the style.

Can: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry black chocolate notes with light roasted malt notes is enticing. Taste is a mix of bitter black chocolate notes with some light roasted malt with very little residual sugar notes. Body is full with somewhat of a creamy texture and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol notes. Solid rendition of the style with good drinkability.

Can from the LCBO. Pitch black with a small tight dark tan head that fades slowly. Nose is roast, coffee, dark chocolate, light vanilla and caramel. Flavour is medium- sweet caramel and milk chocolate with a medium coffee bitterness. Mouth is full and creamy with a soft carbonation. A touch on the sweet side but tempered by the bitterness. Great mouthfeel. 8+/4/7+/4+/16+

Pours a real dark brown colour, almost black with little highlights. The head creamy, big, light-mocha coloured, long lasting with creamy patchy lacing. Loads of chocolate malts, cocoa notes and hints of vanilla in the nose. Roasted malts at first taste with some hints of smooth cocoa powder and vanilla. Some bitterness comes out with time. Pretty smooth overall and well-balanced Imperial Porter.

Can - Dark roast and some chocolate, jet black brown with a small beige head. Dark and roasty with some toast. Decent. Pretty good for the ABV.
