Bottle from Erdinger. One of my remaining German State ticks. Cheers. Low key coffee and dark fruits aroma. Dark and glossy but the head soon died on me. Sugary sweet. Some vague suggestions of bitterness, primarily into the finish. Figs and fruit canned in syrup, with a dash of coffee. Mesium bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long finish. Not great. I'll finish it but not at all what I was expecting.

Bottle, 8.1%. Mild aroma of sweet liquorice. Very dark brown colour. Seems clear with a red shine. Small stable off-white head. The flavour is sweet, bready, vinous, alcoholic. Fairly well-balanced, but there is an unpleasant alcohol bitterness in the finish.

Bottle, as Neuzeller Stout Beer. Pours hazy very dark ruby / brown with airy but stable beige head. Clear aroma of roast, with notes of malt and caramel, and touches of yeast. Bitter, roasty flavour with sweetish notes of caramel malt and chocolate and touches of hops. Hints of fruit. Sweetish aftertaste of malt and chocolate, with some roasty notes. Not bad.

Bottle: Clear, almost black with a ruby sheen, smaller - but quite stable - creamy off-white head; moderate sweet dark-malty nose with mild roasty traces and very delicate hints of liquorice; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied, well hidden alcohol; lingering - moderately dry - malty-bitter and sweet caramelly-fruity finish. Not bad, but lacks the complexity of the great ones...

50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut, Kleve. Dark brown to black with a beige head. Roasted malts and some chocolate in the aroma. Taste is sweet and body is quite thick. Nice non-pretentious smooth stout.
