Tasted on tap at the Wendat Hotel Museum in Wendake, Québec. Very clear pale blond almost straw. Head is small and disappears rapidly. A tiny bit of lacing. Flavors are mainly hoppy with notes of cereals and especially corn. Malts are weak. Corn is taking a lot of space and it’s almost making that beer unpleasant. Palate is light and thin. Kwe in wendat native language means ’’Hello’’. It was probably a request from the Wendat Hotel- Museum to have a beer brewed as close as possible to the ancient native traditional ingredient such as corn. I personnally think that it’s not a success.

Purchased in a Quebec City dépanneur (when my band played there). Pours a pale yellow colour (not as pale as a light beer though) with a big frothy white head that foams out slowly and leaves bubbly lacing. Medium-sized bubbles form around the glass and carbonation is mild-average. Nice fresh nose with some malt, but the hop seems to take over. A beautiful perfume for just an average-looking blonde ale. The malt grain really shows in the taste. Wow... grainy as hell and stays long into the aftertaste. Notes of grass and honey are also present after the first sip. Not much impact in the mouthfeel, but overall, good aroma and flavour (if you consider this one not complex - just a simple blonde ale).

Canette 473 ml.

Has a boring but acceptable bright yellow body and big white foamy head. Fruity grain aroma. Flavour is nothing (nothing!) with a wet and lemony aftertaste. This stuff totally disappoints.

Can: Poured a golden color ale with an average size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light sweetness with non-descript cereal taste. Taste is quite bland with light sweetness notes with some unrefined grain notes. Body is heavier then expected for style with good carbonation. Nothing here that is exciting enough to make me want to have this again.

A pale blonde ale with a thin receeding white head. Aroma of adjunct laden malt, with light burned notes. In mouth, run of the mill lager taste with light german inspired hops, biscuit malt, rather inoffensive. 473 ml can bought in April 2010 at le JA Moisan for 2.69$.
