Bottle from the Purple Moose Brewery Shop, Porthmadog. Dark amber with a thin head. Very strong with a sweetness, it's the barrel ageing which is very evident, which is the best aspect of the ale.

Bottle shared on Level 42 15/08/2016. Many thanks to Daniel for this one. A deep amber coloured pour with no head. Aroma is big medicinal phenols, tcp, iodine, toffee, raw grainy. Flavour is composed of toffee, islay malts, salt, smooth whisky, peat. Palate is full and sticky, lowish carbonation flat. Not a big fan.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Daniel. Clear gold - amber beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is light, and semi dry, modest carbonation. Thin malts, mildly sweet. Mellow peaty whiskey, some band aids but not to the intensity where is starts to burn. Modest dried fruits. Trace of sweeter floralness. Light finish. Not bad for a peat whiskey BA beer.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Dan the Man. Pours clear gold with a bubbly white head. Nice intense peat aroma, some citrus, pale bread. Medium sweet flavour with more robust peat, dry smoke, cured ham, light bready notes, mellow bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Somewhat oily. Finishes with moderate warmth, more heavy peat, light orange peel, faint caramel. Great peat beast.

Bottle thanks to Dirty D. It pours clear rich amber with a small white head. The aroma is rich, sweet, medicinal, filthy smoked peat, iodine, varnish, TCP, honeyed grain and cake. The taste is sweet, sticky, oily, honey, medicinal vibe throughout, warming alcohol, peated whisky vibe, honey cake and a touch of spice. Medium body and flat. Nice aroma, but a touch flat. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to minutemat. Appearance - a beautiful deep amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - so much iodine, plasters and a bit of seawood. Taste - peaty toffee. Weird. Palate - complex and rich in body and texture. A bit cloying and peaty on the finish. Overall - what is the underlying beer. Nae idea as the peat kills everything underneath?

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb and Stuu666. Pours clear deep amber with a thin white head. Aromas of whisky, peat, wood, faint sugar. Taste is very strongly medicinal. I can see how this would be divisive, but I like it well enough.
