Cask at the moon under water Watford. Mid golden / orange coloured pout with a speckled off white head that lasts. Aroma is some nice fruity English yeast esters, berry, low base malts, grainy. Some lace. Flavour is composed of nice rounded base malts, some nuts, light berry, good fermentation profile, hedgerow hop. Well balanced English ale. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Good.

500ml bottle, 2007 aged, @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, May 15, courtesy of Mike. Cobweb nose, murky dusty taste. Not a fair tasting admittedly. Definitely not aged well.

Cask at Cloisters. Pours clear dark gold, thick foamy white head. Aromas of citrus and caramel. Taste is more of the same. Pretty straightforward, but good.

Hazy amber body. Light carbonation. No head or lacing. Dull aroma of grain, metal and honey. Sweet flavour with a hint of lemon. Tastes like a sub par home brew. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft carbonation. Bland, bland, bland...

22/11/2013, rating 1, rb score 7/3/6/3/13 (3.2): Bottle that Dad shared with me - cheers. Clear copper with a moderate off-white head. Rather pleasant aroma of mixed berries. A reasonably rich mouthfeel is ruined somewhat by an artificial fizz that doesn’t suit the style. Some berries in the taste too, along with lots of caramel and a balancing twist of lemon. Unfortunately a metallic tang comes through in the finish- yet another decent UK bitter that’s been ruined by pasteurization. Would like to try in decent nick on cask. 29/10/14, rating 2, rb score 5/3/5/4/10 (2.7): Bottle that Dad shared with me - cheers! Pale amber with a light fizz. Buttery caramel dominates with just a hint of citrus behind. Pretty low-grade stuff. Overall rating is the average of all ratings.

Bright copper coloured ale with a creamy head. It’s a session ale with a general bitterness.
