Can. Black with a large tan head. Aroma of grapefruit, mocha, some tar, lychees, pine. Silky. Tastes much as it smells, with the main thing being a seamless progression from sweet mocha through fruit to resinous bitterness. Good, but perhaps not that much of a step up from Illusion.

Can at Les Vignerons in Rome-Italy. Coffee bean color, beige foam. Nose: resin and coffee surprisingly going great together, less perceivable roasted more resin, a bit garlic. Nice. Mouth: ouh! roasted, a bit coffee, a bit orangey.

Bottle shared at the Canary wharf tasting 16/02/2016. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. Dark black, mahogany brown coloured pour with a light tan head. Aroma is tart lemon hop, dark choc, burnt pine. Palate is medium bodies, hop resin. Flavour is composed of tart lemon, burnt pine needle, hint of choc, bitter lemon. Assertive bitterness. Decent black ipa.

Level 42 Tasting. Thanks to Leighton for this modestly titled can! Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is airy and dry, decent fine carbonation. Thickish dark malts, mildly tangy and with modest roast. Good piney hops, some hop spice. Tangy fruits underneath. Light semi dry finish. A little roast bitterness lingers on. Decent.

Can from Grape & Grind, Bristol. Near black in colour and opaque, with a tight, off-white, head. Aroma of black coffee, lime, grassy hops and a hint of green herb. Flavour had more coffee, cakey malts, sharp fruits and a dryish finish with a whiff of pine. Very good.

Can thanks to Leighton. It pours near black with a thick tan head. The nose is rich roast, dark chocolate, prunes, blackcurrant jam, fruit cake and fruit loaf. The taste is bitter, earthy, charred wood, toast, chewy malt, burnt wood, tar, cacao nibs and rocky road with and earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty tasty and rather drinkable. Mighty decent stuff.
