This straw-coloured ale was first brewed in September 2017 and has been brought back again especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. The infusion of lemongrass provides a zesty lemon nose and a refreshing character throughout.

13th June 2017
Bright clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light, fairly dry and has decent fine carbonation. Thin malts, mildly sweet. Good lemongrass floral lemon, slightly bitter and slightly spicy. Touch of banana esters. Light dry finish. Does what it says on the tin. Pretty drinkable.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2017. Pale gold in colour, with a small, white, head. Lemongrass, spice, thin digestive malts and a touch of leafy hop, before a dryish finish. All a bit synthetic and not my kind of beer.

Cask up the White Lady. Pours clear golden with a broken white head. Aromas of strong lemongrass and citrus. Taste is lemon too, light lemongrass. Could do with another dimension to the flavour, but not bad.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A slightly hazy pale amber pour with a ring of white head; lemon aroma; lemongrass taste with a touch of spice; and a dry finish. Quite pleasant.

Hand-pulled half-pint in my local Wetherspoons on 31st March 2017. Blonde body, white crown. Beer is completely diminated by the infused Lemongrass, fine if that’s your thing: it isn’t mine. Scored objectively.

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw . A pale golden coloured pour with a small fading white head. Aroma is sharp lemon, cif, floral, little Turkish delight. Pretty artificial on the nose .. Flavour is composed of spicy soapy lemon, perfumed lime and a little rose petal. Palate is medium light, moderate cask condition. Not bad
