Bottle from Beerdome. Aroma is fairly heavy on the Madeira wine with surprising funk, oak, grapes, malt, and various tart red fruits. Flavour is vinous tartness with a moderate sweetness and a mild sourness. Body is above medium. Madeira makes a great barrel appearance here, with plenty of wood and funky notes. Complex and vinous, intriguing.

Bottle. Color: Dark brown, off-white head. Aroma: Sweetish, caramel, vinuous notes, Madeira. Taste: Medium sweet, malt, caramel, dried dark red fruit, apple, bread. Clear Brett notes. Light hints of raisins and nuts, sweetish and slightly sour red wine notes (Madeira, I presume), boozy hints. Medium body, below average carbonation. Quite nice. I think it is interesting to know the story about it on https://www.marblebeers.com/prize-old-ale/ to fully understand and appreciate this beer.

330 ml. bottle. Dark brownish orange amber, bigger head fizzes away. Nose is rotting fermenting fruit, spoiled wine, rotting oak, fermenting fruit & some odd sugar somewhere in there. Taste is rotting fruit, grape, pomegranate with sweet rotting wine, booze, spoiled fruit,.. Weird body. I really enjoyed the bourbon version but this one felt weird & off for me and not correct. Not sure if it just not my thing or something went off here but it is not my thing.

Pigs Ear after party at Chez Smith. Light haze on this deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Airy palate, semi dry and with decent fine carbonation. Thin dry creamy malts. Tangy ripe fruits. Modest madeira soaked ripe fruits and a touch of sherry. Tangy finish brings mild wood and spice. Nice beer, perhaps not quite as enchanting as the others in this series.
