Für das dunkle Heinzlein wird ein Teil des Malzes bei sehr großer Hitze getrocknet und ähnlich wie Kaffee geröstet. So entstehen die kräftigen und leicht bitteren Röstaromen, die ihm seine besondere Note verleihen. Für uns ist das dunkle Heinzlein die Urform des Bamberger Kaffees. Es ist untergärig gebraut und hat einen niedrigen Stammwürzegehalt.

50cl Flasche. Ein fast klare dunkel orange braune Farbe, mittelgroße beige Schaumkrone. Aroma: leicht brotig malzig, Karamell, etwas Rauch. Geschmack: leicht rauchig, Karamell, mild süß brotig mazig.

Bamberger Heinzlein - Dunkles Bier, Flasche von REWE, Stegaurach. - Dunkelrotbraun, trüb; üppiger lockerer Schaum. - In der Nase blasser Kaffee, zarte Karamelnote, milde aber elegante hopfenwürzige Herbe, sehr leicht aber nirgends fad. - Antrunk dünn aber hefeweich mit blassem dunklen Malz, Malzkaffee und feiner, trocken dunkelmalziger Bittere, abgerundet mit zarter hopfenwürziger Herbe. Gar nicht süß. Milder rezent. Im Abgang blasse aber nicht unaromatische Bittere, zart holzig. - Hochoriginelles Bier, dünn ohne fad zu sein, ideal für eine schweißtreibende Wanderung. (20.4.2021.)

25-02-21 // 500ml bottle. Post Radtourbier. Perfect Durstlöcher. Light smokey, light roasted malts. Bread crust. Minimal sweetness. Roast bitterness. Thin obviously but actually nice.

500ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Toasty, nutty malty and herbal-grassy, minimally floral, hoppy aroma, cautious malty spiciness, a minimally bready touch. Taste is minimally dry, herbal-grassy, minimally floral hoppy, toasty and minimally nutty malty, malty spicy and bready malty. Creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, fine and soft carbonation. A bit more balanced than Henzlein Hell, more pleasant palate as well, sadly I get not a single hints of smoke - OK.

500 ml bottle. Unclear amber, foamy head. Dry citrus, some caramel, floral hoppy notes, grain, hay. Dry bitterness, salty, slightly sweet. Light bodied, watery texture, lively carbonated, dry salty finish.

Bottle courtesy of Jonas cheers Jonas! Consumed at home Saturday 12th December 2020 listening to Bob Vylan - We live here, cooking Picadillo (Mexican Chile). Pours hazy, murky chestnut brown with a dirty off white head. Tangy and fruity with a linger of smokiness, a much better than expected, low alcohol beer, dry and a little bit harsh at the finish but generally pretty good.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Caramel and boiled vegetables in the aroma. Roast, smoke and boiled vegetables in the surprisingly hoppy flavor. Caramel. Watery, but not too bad. Long, roasty caramelly soft smoky finish. A pleasant surprise.

0.5 l bottle from 'Bierothek', best before December 2020. Clear, very dark ruby with a large, frothy, stable, beige head. Slightly sweetish-malty, moderately roasty aroma of caramel, light coffee and some grains. Quite watery, rather dry, a little malty and slightly roasty taste of some caramel, roasted grains and hints of coffee, followed by a short, watery, slightly grainy and gently roasty finish. Thin body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Not for me.
