A light ale that has a clean well balanced bitterness with a fruity slightly spicy aftertaste. Hints of sweet orange, apricot and blackcurrant to the fore.

Cask-conditioned at the Lime Kiln, Bristol 2/12/2016. Pale gold in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Some pleasant citrus hops and fruits, touch of straw and gente, cereal, malts before a dryish finish. Good.

On cask at Sitwell Arms at Whiston - clear straw coloured body with a lasting white head. Taste is a dry grassy bitterness finish but with a sweet start. Refreshing blond whicb goes down well.

Handpull cask at the Flying Scotsman, Doncaster. Mid-gold, clear as a bell with a small tight white head and a respectable amount of lacing on the glass. Stone fruit, citrus and some spicy yeast - a hint of saison-y type notes - on the aroma. Taste is clean and bittersweet, turning more bitter until the finish. Slightly overripe nectarine in the aftertaste. Good and unusual.

Earl of Essex. Cask. A risky cask in the Earl of Essex! Almost clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and crisp. Very light thin malts. Light floral sweetness turns bitterish and slightly soapy. Mild mild citrus before a light finish. Aside from the slight soapy vibe (quite possibly EofE induced) it’s clean and drinkable and fresh tasting.
