The beer that’s rich, smooth, and filling, just like mom used to make.

Tasting at Matt’s
Black color, almost no head. The aroma is roasty and nutty, the mouthfeel is very dry, the flavor is roasty and coffeish, there is a hint of roasted nuts and paper, ordinary bitterness.
New batch, but tastes like old beer.

341mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out notes of oats that dominate -- a little muffled. Flavour is pleasant enough, with notes of oats, mildly sweetened cocoa powder, and a little chalk. Certainly not overly robust, but decently balanced and well-made. Okay.

A deep dark stout with a thick creamy moka head. A classey chocolate malt aroma with light coffee aroma. In mouth, a light chocolate malt with light olives, light and enjoyable. Medium bodied. Trade with Capflu. Tasted Late November 2006. .

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with some good retention and some nice lacing notes. Aroma of deep black chocolate notes with some dry roasted malt notes as well. Notes of light coffee were also discernable. Body was about average with some good carbonation. Well done and well balance overall.

Pours a really, really dark brown colour with a tiny head. Looks pretty much like a flat coke, but not in a really bad way. Nice roasted smell to it. Tastes like breakfast with a little bit of alcohol to boot. Not sweet like some oatmeal stouts that I have tried, rather it is more on the side of coffee. It was more watery than what I expected as well.

Bottle from BC Liquor store. Black with tan head. Some charcoal. Nice juicy beer, not sour, but enjoyable. Competent, bit too sweet. Nothing special, but ok.

Well, the label smells like copyright infringement rather than the usual glue and paper. Very dark brown colour with loose head. Very oaty aroma with toast and roast notes of course, but also a bit of fruitiness. Soft body, sweet and simple with light toasty and oats. A bit thin, fatty and limp in the body but at least it is oaty.

Bottle. Light tart coffe aroma. Very dark brown, quickly exiting low creamy head. Coffeground, light body, somewhat fizzy mouthfeel. Easy drinkable - too easy really.
