A real showcase of the fabulous Soracchi Ace hop, Acer is a 3.8% beer with a huge hop kick to it, ripe tangerines, resinous hops and a blast of citrus play around on a solid bready malt backbone... it surely can't only be 3.8% with that much flavour!

On cask at Euston Tap. Now you either like sorachi ace or you dont. I quite like it so i am different. I like the green flower hop taste. I like the dryness. I like the unusual flavour. But you do have to make it quite intense or it can end up quite flabby. This is pretty intense for a 3.8% beer. Good fullness in mouth. Finally someone else who understands that you just cant throw a whole load of hops at a beer without having a sufficient backbone. Likeable if quite hoppily aggressive

Cask from gravity at Mason & Taylor, in their "Single Hop" festival of 23 April 2011. Clear amber with thin white lacing head. Aromatic with honey, smoke and herbiness. Liquid is buttescotch, honey and grass with a gingery kick. Peppery finish and velvet texture. Very interesting beer, acquired taste.

Mason & Taylor single hop fest. Hazy gold beer, little white head. Light dry palate. Nice touch of Sorachi - typical lemony citrus and herby cream. Trace of orange and then a light bitter finish. Nice easy going pale ale.

Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours a mostly clear orange amber with a small, white head, bubbly and filmy. Malty aroma with pine trees and earth. Decent flavor, some sharp bread notes, light honey, pine and grapefruit. Light bodied with fine, fairly tingly carbonation. Bready malt finish with good hops, of the pine and citrus rind variety, that linger in the mouth. Dries out well. Pretty good beer overall.
