This Zenne y Frontera is a blend of eleven different sherry barrels - ten Oloroso barrels and one Amontillado barrel. The Oloroso bar-rels were more than fourty years old. The lambics originate from four different brews and were all a good year old when filling the sherry barrels. Accordingly, the weighted average age upon bottling was a tad more than 25 months. 100% 3 Fonteinen.

Bottle courtesy of Zhenya, enormous thanks! Murky dark orange body, off-white head. Fresh brett funk meets candied orange and white grape raisins, lovely, some glue later but it still works. Lean, dry, fresh white grape and citrus funky taste, restrained enough, daringly sour enough.

Bottle, bottling date 24-07-2019, 6.5%. Color: Slightly hazy orange golden, thin white head. Aroma: Fruity grape, Sherry, some wood. Taste: Over moderate tart, fruity notes of unripe berries, grapes, citrus, Sherry. Wood and tannins. Subtle wild yeast funk. Minerals. Medium body, soft carbonation. Dry mouthfeel. Light sweetness. Getting more balanced and complex, with also a little more Sherry flavors and sweetness, when standing longer and opening up after some rolling. Nice, although I expected a litle more flavors from the Sherry barrels.

Taster. Orange body, with a small, yellowish head.
Beautiful aroma of horse blanket, sherry, some curry, citrus, stone fruits. Tastes similar.
Medium, slick mouthfeel. Finishes smooth, complex, funky, citric, a bit spicy, a bit wooden, fruity.

Another very beautiful, complex Zenne! Lots of characterful funk, lovely fruit notes and some distinctive spiciness to it. Score: 9 / 4 / 9 / 4 / 17

0,75l bottle at home. Bottled 24.07.2019. BB 26.10.2039. amber murky color, tiny small white head. smells nutty, curry, walnuts, wood, earthy, peppery. lovely smell. full body, pearly carbonation. tastes curry, earthy, grassy, spices, peppery, lactic sour. finishes dry and medium sour with notes of curry, grass and peppery notes. very good one, trending towards lactic sourness though, surprisingly bubbly, curry and sherry notes overlayered by the lactic sourness. lacks some funk. very good one overall.

Bit low on the carb but delish thick farmy flavor, gorgeous nose, packed with flavor although that comes with a bit of oaky barrel acidity, like young sherry (says the guy who doesn't drink sherry).

Bottle pour at Brauhaus (Edinburgh), pours a clear bright golden amber with a tiny white head. Aroma is pretty divine, with lots of barnyard funk, complex sherry notes, and oak. Flavour is bone dry and moderately tart, with subdued barnyard funk, lots of sherry, and deep elegance in the depth of flavours. The funk is surprisingly suppressed, while the sherry and moderate tartness shine. Certainly great but honestly it's not amazing.
