500 ml bottle conditioned, a gift from my beerpal Olav. Orange colour with floaties, hardly any head. Strong spicy (weird) and hoppy aroma, also notes of red wine vinegar. Nearly void of carbonation. The flavour has an unpleasant peppery and hoppy bitterness, and not much else. In other words: A fucked up bottle. Drainpour.

Keg at SIBA BeerX - Rich red body, foamy white top. Big citrus nose, grapefruit and tart lemons, expecting a big hop taste which you get. Smooth bitter-sweet grapefruit again, after taste of kumquat and tangerine. Very nice and deceptively dangerous!

Keg @ The Rake. Pours an auburn colour, mildly carbonated with pithy lemon and orange and an almost medicinal tongue-numbing bitterness. A great double IPA.

Bottle from Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Cloudy amber. Thin but lasting, white head. Big aroma. White cherry sourness with a muscovado sugar sweetness. Earthy, dry taste. Massive, oily finish. Pretty massive overall, really.

Bottle, and my 80th country rating - big thanks to Ben! Pours hazy orangish amber with a medium off-white creamy head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is big time west coast IPA - citrus, passionfruit, cat piss, pine resin all present and accounted for, thank you! Flavor is the same, with a bit of caremely sweetness overlaid with a thick sticky bitter hop resinous. This is west coast IPA thru and thru, and not a bad effort at one at that! Medium body, tongue coating oily mouthfeel. Tasty brew, so glad #80 wasn’t a pale lager :)

Keg at Tap East, London. Pours a lightly fuzzy ruby-gold with a thick, foamy, off-white head. Nose holds tons of sweet, ripe and juicy citrus fruits, some berries, plum, hints of toffee. Medium to big sweet with tons of juicy fruits, lots of berries, grape, some ripe orange, mango, pineapple. Really, just tons of juicy fruits. This isn’t really like a classic DIPA, but it is damn drinkable and pretty nicely balanced. Moderately bitter but not at all harsh. Some juicy pine. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Faintly warming finish with lots more juicy, ripe berries, ripe citrus, some bread, cherry, plum. Pretty delicious, even though a classic DIPA it is not.

Bottle from Cotteridge; hazy amber pour with off white head, mild hop aroma with malts, tangerine taste with passion fruit not a massive amount of hop. Ok

Cask-conditioned at the Portcullis, Clifton, Bristol 18/10/2012. Deep amber with a slight, off-white head. Big, hoppy aroma, with plenty of sweet, tropical fruit, some caramel and a hint of herbs. Flavour had overripe fruits, dense malts and a dry finish, with alcohol prominent. Tried immediately after the Buxton High Tor and came off second best by comparison.
