Bottle from Jacks, Westholme Store, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon 17.06.11 consumed at Haro campsite, La Rioja, Northern Spain sat outside Frank (Camper) 28.06.11 Pours reddy brown with a tan head. The aroma is camp coffee with some syrup. Its a little too sweet really with the addition of the syrup flavourings probably providing this sweetness. However its a fine beer and whilst not totally my thing the hazlenut shows well as does the coffee. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.3

Cask at the Sheffield Tap on 19 February 2011. Copper with thin film head giving lasting lacing. Sweet, slightly spicy aroma. Fruity in-mouth; nuttiness develops in the finish with hazel nut notes becoming rich and intense., alongside a rather nice bitter background,

30th June 2010. On taop at the Kings Head freehouse Tollesbury, Essex. Clear brown beer. Not much head. Soft smooth palate. Sweet hazlenuts, red fruit in the undertone. Mellow chocolatey coffee. Some coconut as well. Finishes soft with some sweeter red fruit coming to the fore. An outstanding English draft beer - best I have had in a very very long time.

On gravity at the Royal Oak, Bath 25/02/10. Middling brown in colour, with a decent, off-white head. Nutty, sweetish aroma, with a touch of Maxwell House and powdered chocolate. Hazelnuts dominated the flavour, with sweet coffee and chocolate in the background and a decent, dry finish. Unusual and drinkable.

The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt as well as light notes of chocolate, and hints of coffee, leading to a dry bitter coffeeish finish.

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Strangely lightish brown colour that seemed somewhat unporter like. This comes together really well though ,with an appealing balance between the sweet malt and the coffee/nut flavour struck. Interesting stuff and well worth a look.
