Important: let this beer warm to at least 50° before enjoying. This beer is black with some ruby highlights. The nose is full of pumpkin pie spices and some alcohol. There are notes of nutmeg, caraway and vanilla. The taste starts with chocolate malt with a hint of spice and rolls into a warm spicy alcohol taste which has the effect of creating the balance that usually comes from the hop bitter. There is some hop bitter on the finish, but not much. Overall, this beer finishes relatively dry for such a big beer. As it warms, the spices move forward in the taste and the chocolate moves to the finish. The pumpkin provides a pleasant undertone and a nice mouthfeel. The spices will probably fade some over time; they mellowed considerably while still in the fermenter.

Bottle from Ericandersnavy, thanks! Deep dark brown color, almost opague. Malt, speculaas and cardemom in the aroma. Sweet, very spicy flavor with coughing syrup. speculaas and cardemom. Full bodied. Pear drups. Alcohol. The balance is bothered by the abundance of spices. I can’t say the beer is bad, it just isn’t my taste at all.

2018 vintage. I always enjoy beers from this brewery. This particular beer eluded me for many years. For the style it is, it is quite good. Mild nutmeg, cinnamon, and subtle roast in the nose. The spice is pretty forward in the flavor and as it warms it becomes extremely bold. Displays a roasted malt backbone with a fuller body and mouthfeel. When warm the spice almost becomes too powerful. All things considered I liked it better more on the chilled side.

Bomber from Tavour. Aroma is vanilla, oak, bourbon, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, noticeable pumpkin that reveals itself after warming in the glass. Pours black with a one finger beige head with decent retention. Taste is moderately to highly sweet with some herbal bitterness and light acidity in the finish. Flavors like the aroma, with a raisin-y, molasses and licorice character. A good beer, but some of the other unsung pumpkin beers I've had recently are way better.

Sampled at Goose island brewery staff bottle share. One last pumpkin beer for the season. Let's go for it. A very spicy nose. Definitely has a bit of the creaminess of a pumpkin pie, that is, with actual pumpkin in it.

On tap at Whip In, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is decadent, with heaps of pumpkin pure, some toffee, and light pumpkin spices. Flavour is decadent, with heaps of pumpkin pure, brown sugar, and caramel. Soft on the palate, with a wonderful blend of flavours. Sweet but not cloying. Lovely stuff.

GABF 2015. Black beer, white head. This is really good, sweet, pumpkin pie spices, nutmeg and cinnamon. The grain is heavily roasted which compliments it well.

Draft pour at the Great Pumpkin beer fest. Pouring 6 oz of these beers, so this is a fest I will be returning too. Especially if they are putting beers like this one. Pours black with no head. Huge pumpkin pie aroma and flavor. A little chai. Big cinnamon. Solid stout with an overwhelming pumpkin. If you dig pumpkin, look no further.
