We introduced our Belgian-style raspberry ale to a tequila barrel and wound up with what can only be described as an international love affair. Tart and luscious raspberry jam character is balanced beautifully thanks to time spent aging in tequila barrels. Now who’s blushing?

Very clear purple and light violet glow with a nice soft white head that's barely there. Aroma of very strong raspberries with a lot of the grassy and rustic scents along with some yeast and additional caster sugar in the nose. Full-bodied; Rich sweet flavour of raspberries and some cherries with a light dose of blackberries as well and a touch of grass freshness in the mix as well. Aftertaste is robust, super sweet, slightly sour and tart from the fresh fruit with a good deal of malts to add support and balance to the rich fruits here - strong throughout, but especially in the sweetness. Overall, a very nice fruit-based beer with a good kick of raspberries and blackberries with a hint of strawberry notes as well, especially towards the end. Good to sample, especially on tap and local! I sampled this eight ounce pour on draught at the brewpub here in Detroit before my first Tigers game at Comerica Park, sampled in Detroit for US$7,25 on 19-April-2023.

Crowler fill. Aroma is raspberry shortcake, wood, slightly boozy. Pours crystal clear ruby red with a large purplish-white head with excellent retention. Taste is moderately sweet, moderately tart (7/10), savory, with a light bitter finish. The tequila barrel really comes through. This is good, but really rich; regular Blushing Monk was a lot better.
