Gänstaller 06/Burned Malt, 440-ml-Dose von Taschenbier, BA. - Schwarzbraun, undurchsichtig. (9.4.2021.)

(Can, 0.44 l - BB 21.10.2021, from Pikkulintu, 20210401) The beer poured brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had smoked ham, grilled sausage, smoke and grass. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, smoke, malts, hint of molasses and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was smoky, malty and bitter. A brew with pleasant complex aroma but the taste didn't reach the same level.

Picked this up from the brewery webshop. Had this Thursday 25th February 2021, consumed whilst undertaking my Beer School 'beerwithNat' after we had a Spaghetti Bolognese for tea. Pours dark, murky brown with an off white head. Aroma is burnt maltiness, burnt wood, sausage and smoked ham flavours come through in the mouth, soft moutheel, roastiness, love the burnt touches, really good beer. This brewery are really knocking it out of the park with their offerings, fabulous stuff.

440ml Can - Hazy amber with a foamy head. Very smoky aroma with notes of beechwood, ham, ash and caramel. Smoky, fruity and malty taste with notes of ham, ash, toffee, dried fruit and some slightly tart hints. The aroma is quite pungent in terms of its smokiness but the taste is a lot less smoky than that, but still very smoky! The finish is smoky but also features some nutty notes. Quite intense so I don't think I could drink more than a can/glass at a time.

Can @home. Color miele di castagno, schiuma ecrù media. Al naso note di malto, caramello, affumicato intenso, erbaceo, terroso. In bocca è maltata all'attacco con chiusura amara e affumicato abbastanza lungo e persistente. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Buona.

0.44 l can from 'Bierothek', best before October 2021. Almost clear, ruby with a medium large, foamy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, quite smoky aroma of caramel, smoked ham, beechwood, some sauerkraut and a touch of raisins. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, rather smoky taste of caramel, smoked ham, salt, sauerkraut, a touch of toasted nuts and hints of raisins, followed by a short, slightly bitter, fairly smoky, minimally salty finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Really good Rauchmärzen, heavy on the smoke but accompanied by lots of deep, malty flavours and balanced by a solid hoppy finish.
