Rated 12th January 2010 500ml bottle from Morrisons. Attractive pale golden colour with a rapidly fading white head that leaves a nice lacing on the glass; aroma has some fruit and some musty grain; pleasantly malty flavour with some butter and grass, but also a touch of boiled sweets from the pasteurisation; crisp finish with some citrus and fresh herbal hops adding a touch of bitterness. Very pleasant.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s. I believe this is an older version of this beer. Now it only has limited availability. I like this beer. But alas it’s changed.

Bottle at home from Tesco. Aroma is grain husk, some belgian fruityness, light tart, and grassy hop. Flavour is mostly stale lightly cardboard oxidised grain, some grain tanin. Lots of yeast esters, maybe a stressed ferment. Clear golden colour with a fleeting white head. Plaate is medium light with a drying tanin finish. Pretty dull, but not overly offensive.

Bottle from Tesco drunk on the train home. Now I know I have had this before but never rated it for some reason. Some house yeast on the aroma some citrus hop too. It’s a pale ale witj some citrus grassy hop. Fine. Not exciting not horrible but the house yeast may over dominate the other more subtle flavours.

Bottle from Tesco. Poured a clear light amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is clean crisp with yeast and citrus fruit. The flavour is medium bitter, with a lovely acidic citrus fruit palate. Very refreshing.

Golden ale with a sweet, citrus aroma. Mild, sweet flavour that’s a little bland if anything with a crisp, bitter finish.
