Altbier ist eine dunkle obergärige Biersorte, die traditionell in Nordrhein-Westfalen/ im Großraum Düsseldorf gebraut wird. Unser tiefbraunes, fränkisches Altbier überzeugt durch sein feines nussig-malziges Aroma, mit einem Hauch Rosine im Geschmack. Sein leichter Körper und seine angenehm leichte Spritzigkeit machen es zu einem sehr süffigen Bier. Ein Bier für Liebhaber dunkler Bierstile mit abgerundetem Charakter.

Bottle 50cl. @home poured into footed pilsner glass. Opaque orange pale amber colour, good moussy off-white head, slowly diminishing, thin layer remains, light lacing. Aroma toasted malt, caramel, grain/cereals, nutty notes. Taste medium sweet and below medium bitter, malty, grain/cereals, caramel, some brown sugar, light nutty notes. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, tasty, very nice.

T: sweet apple, (caramel) malt, brioche; some herbs & yeast.
F: herbal hops, dry maltiness & yeastiness, bit fruity.
P: medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation.
Bit too yeasty, but still refreshing.

Smooth mild beginning. Grainy malty, not much bitter. More a brewpub-dunkel than a real Alt. Nice malty, hints of grain. Ok if you don’t expect a Düsseldorf-style alt.
