Bottle: Pours cloudy, dark brown with a short beige head. Chocolate fudge aroma. Taste is powdered chocolate, coffee bitter... Malty, vanilla, cream. Pretty tasty.

500ml bottle at home. Pours reddish tinged dark brown, short-lived beige head. Aromas are like a box of quality street, or perhaps a jar of nutella. Taste is like Japanese pocky (poky?) sticks. Too sweet for me.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkles bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaukmkrone. Geruch nach Kaffee, Schokolade. Geschmack nach Schokolade, Kaffee, hopfig.

Almost clear, deep red - amber beer. Tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and smooth and dry. Somewhat artificial tasting chocolate, like chocolate powder. Light fruity tang with a touch of red berries. Light dry finish. Inoffensive.

Sample at Kurtkeller 005: Coffee-tastic 01 on 02/08/2014. Dark brown color with a medium thin tan head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Chocolate and coffee in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt and mild coffee. The finish is semi-sweet with a short chocolate malt aftertaste. Average overall.

Bottle at home. Dark with plentiful carbonation but not a lot of head. No lacing. Smells of coffee boiled sweets. Pleasant but un-beerlike. I do not like the taste. When I lived in Miami there was a short-lived local soft drink called ’Cafe Cola’. This is very similar. Like dumping a supermarket iced cappuccino into a dark beer. And I don’t get much of the chocolate.

Bottle from Sainsburys, Kidlington, Sunday 20th October 2013 consumed the same day. Pours brown with large foamy tan head. In the mouth this is chocolate and milky coffee, mmhh.. a touch artificial and not exactly subtle. Its easy drinking, sweet with some bitter cocoa, but all told it is a bit OTT, still it was reduced to £1.39 a bottle so I’m not complaining. Fine. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Bottle: The label makes a big play of the nose... Smells of of oak, a touch of coffee and cheap milk chocolate. There is some smoke in the mid range. Taste is... cheap milk chocolate, which seems to be the fashion for British chocolate beer who seem to think Nanny’s Easter egg is the height of coco tastes. There is some latte underneath. Mouthfeel is much to thin for the style. Must try harder, and unfortunately the American’s do this type of beer a million times better. Edit: Read the bottle, the idiots have added flavour rather than used the malt and hops. No wonder it’s rubbish. Lose another point for trying to take shortcuts.
