On tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas for the Olambic Games. Pours ruby with a white head. Tart currants and funk on the nose. Flavour has great currants character, some funky old barrels. Very nice.

Purple pour, with a small pinkish head. Aroma is purple grape, currants, cherries, cassis. Tart, funky, lovely. Bright mouth feel, big, bright carb. Medium tart, low bitterness, light lactic notes, big cassis and black berry, light vinegar, tart, and funky..

On tap at Constellation. Big on berries and red fruits, got a slighlty earthy, beet-like character to it too, the funk level is surprisingly low, acidity is mid/mid-high

Bottle, online from Etre. Pours near clear rose/plum/pale berry purple with frothy mild pink foam. Aroma: acetic, berries, funk. Taste: sharp fruity, acetic, moderate+ sour, blackcurrant, blackberry, cranberry, mild red grape. Firmly dry on the palate. Towards medium body with spritzy carbonation.

Small pour. Appearance: light copper with a white head. Aroma: black currant kompot with some tannic notes. Taste: along the same lines, a lot of black currant notes, a but dry, little tart. Surprisingly, it's not acidic at all. Overall: nice one.

Bottle from LCBO Cooper & Queen's Quay. It's a different building now, but Cooper St was always the most serious LCBO. That and the one near Rebel House. Purplish sort of colour, light haze. Not much head. Nice blackcurrant character on the nose and palate. It's got a dry, lean sort of character. The fruit is big and tart, there's some leather, but that thin body is a bit of a thing for me. Decent, but not their best work, and certainly doesn't compare to the finer blackcurrant lambics.

Pour purple with a barely their ring of white. Aserbic sour, with clear vinous nose. Taste strong aserbic scour up front, mellows out after a few siips to allow the blackberries and wine notes to open up, over cream. Lingering berries on the finish. Nice. Bottle LCBO

Sample at the roost. Nose has lemon and blackberry and some funk. It's good. It's clearly continental and well made. It doesn't have a ton of barrel or funk but it's wonderfully approachable. Tart lemon peel and under ripe grapes and juicy berries and raw berries. Tart, medium bodied finish. 7 3 7 3 12
