(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy off-white head. Hoppy, fruity nose with apricots, pine needles, orange, toast and caramel. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of apricots, pine needles, orange peel, dried pineapple, herbs, caramel and a generous citric/piney bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Solid and well made WCIPA. Very nice.

Thin beige head left a spotty cover on an unclear amber body. Malt, stone fruit & confectionery aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth with a lively cloying back. Ripe stone fruit, malt, marmalade & grapefruit tastes with bitter overly hopped finish. Excellent

12 oz bottle served in its proper Flying Dog shaker. It pours a crystal clear, dark amber with a frothy, abundant, egg-white head. Aroma is intense grapefruit, orange, peach, mango, resin. True to style. Dry and crisp in the mouth with a very bitter and long-lasting finish. Again, true to style. A per-the-book West Coast DIPA.

12 ounce bottle. Brassy gold pour. Finger high foamy off-white head. Slightly malty aroma with notes of dank citrus. Flavor is bittersweet citrus, apricot and orange pith. Boozy middle. Piney hop finish.

Light haze on this gold amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate starts smooth and semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malts, mildly sweet, some fairly obvious raw grain. The hops, whatever the fuck they are, are all crisp piney citric peel. Crisp finish. Flying Dog are a great brewery. Scratching my head why they want to mark their 30th anniversary with this standard and uninspiring WCDIPA.

Ever so slightly hazy golden, peach and orange coloured body with a thinnish, one to two centimetre tall just off-white head that fades fairly quickly and leaves just about nothing left on top. Aroma of pine, pineapple, resin, flowers, grass, alcohol, astringent malts and a touch of pepper and dryness, all with some noticeable sweetness mainly from caster sugar that comes through. Medium-bodied; Strong resinous and piney hop flavours dominate up front and provide a lot of bitterness with a robust and tropically fruit bite right behind that shows both mangoes and pineapple. Aftertaste is crisp, very dry, very bitter and quite sweet with a lot of resin filling in the cracks near the end. Overall, a nice and fairly dank and astringent real Imperial IPA that shows a lot of hops of course, but a good balance of malts as well and plenty of residual sugars. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 27-November-2020 for US$2,79 sampled at my house here in Washington on 08-March-2021.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of grapefruit zest and those white cigarette stick sweets. Flavour of crystallised orange and honey and a biting, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. A bold, bitter DIPA.

Bottle at home, from HOTM online, 19/01/21. Clear golden to light amber with a well presented just off white cap. Nose is pine needle, grapefruit, bitter orange, grass, melon, toasted malts. Taste comprises orange zest, caramel malts, pine needle, hint of bubblegum, light hop spice, citric tinged straw, grapefruit zest. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with lightly aggressive leafy hop bitterness. Solid old skool leaning DIPA.
