Bottle from some hipster wine shop. Two years of storage, four months in the fridge. Duvel glass @home. Pours a sparkling, clear, oily gold. Second pour was a cloudy ginger gold. Smell is of macerated apples with a soft, inviting floral note. A very subtle sharpness of something like pie spice right at the end. Taste is bittersweet apples, floral, lightly tart, nutty, tannic grape skin, with a lingering pithy & earthy finish. Some sips are more interesting than others. Watery body, moderate to high acid, thin bubbles but ample carbonation (that died back quickly). ABV is a touch hotter than the 7% on the label. Some sulfite disagreement in my self, but not a lot. Okay to good.

Sample thanks to Grumbo! Golden yellow appearance. Taste is a little odd, perhaps due to wooden barrel aging / fermentation. White bread, old books, aged cheese and moderately sweet apple fruit form its basis, with an oily wine-like acidity and some lingering woody notes. A bit strange.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, thanks Graham! Pale yellow gold colour, short-lived thin white head and aroma of apple, wood barrrel. Taste is apple, woody barrel, some initial cardboard oxidised notes, with citric acidity. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tart finish. Quite OK
