Borefts 2018. Day 2. Thank you for sharing! Sampled draft. Black syrup with zero head. Nose is varnish glue, syrup, alcoholic, molasses. Taste is sugar, chocolate, praline, harsh plastic & alcohol but overall surprisingly nice, chocolate, molasses, treacle, better than feared. Not bad at all even if bit simple but yeah at this ABV?

Tap at Borefts 2018. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is big roasty malt, cofeee, light red berry fruits, boozy alcohol. The flavour is liquorice bitter with a smooth, rich, roasty, fruity, alcohol bitter palate. Somewhat nice but the alcohol burns and that’s not great as it totally dominates the beer. I’m tempted to skip this one as my next session beer!

Definitely not the best of the series. Way too much whisky and barrel, leaving little beeryness behind. Taste is sharp, alcoholic and woody. Falls way behind all the great stuff on the festival and of Kees himself. Unbalanced. Pity.

Sampled from tap at Borefts 2018. Pitch black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of nougat, praline, some vanilla and a touch of whisky. Rather sweet, malty, gently roasty taste of dark chocolate, praline, nougat, some vanilla, whisky and hints of dark fruits, followed by a long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly boozy finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice, just a little too hot.

21/IX/18 - sample @ Borefts Bierfestival Day 1 BB: n/a - (2018-1367) Thanks to the international Ratebeer crew for sharing today's beers!
Clear dark brown beer, no head. Aroma: nice roast, quite a bit of chocolate notes, alcoholic. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: little sourish, fruity touch, roasted, lots and lots of alcohol, bitter, more roast. Aftertaste: hoppy touch, alcohol, roasted bitterness, some charcoal, very roasted finish. Not getting much of the whisky here, though.
