Clear amber beer. Light palate,a little dry. Fairly well balanced. Light malt, a little creamy. Mild hop, mild bitterness. Subtle banana. Clean and competent but a little dull. Dry frothy finish.

First beer in a random British Beer tasting evening on 8th Jan 2011. 500ml brown bottle, poured inro an ’Old Speckled Hen’ badged vase shaped pint glass. Good amber body, slight haze. White head, thin but firm and with staying power. Weak aroma, got some hop esters as the beer warmed. The taste was of floral hops and mild barley flavours. The flavours blended well and tasted great together, even if my discription sounds a bit off! Fairly light bodied, but flavoursome in a basic sort of way. I tend to be a sweet rather than dry or sour sort of drinker and this beer leans towards my style of tastes. I found it very drinkable.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli and Sofia. Pours clear copper with a soft, white head. Grainy malt aroma with some leaves. Medium sweet flavor. Kind of an odd sweetness, actually. A bit of grainy, cereal malts. Some vegetables. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish. Sweet veggies. Kind of weird.

500ml bottle. Pours dark orange with a thin head. Aroma is dark fruity malt, gassy and a tiny bit of banana. Fruity malt start. Bit of fruit and gas on the finish. Too much carbonation.

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and straw.

500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Mid brown colour with thinnish beige head. Well it’s a bitter. Some toffee, some hop. A bit of pukey toffee malt on the aroma, which isn’t great to be honest. A bit better in the mouth where the flavours settle down and the toffee malt comes through more. The hop is there on the finish but is quite mooted, a bit of a tingle. Yes, those malts aren’t pleasant. Not a very good bitter.
