LCBO Spring release. BB May 2006. Hazy golden ale with no head. Rather chalky cardboard box aroma of oxidation, butfreshly sliced pears also noted. In mouth, a sweet honey malt, with light coriander, clovers herbal qualities, and warming alcohol. Medium bodied. The aroma took a beating but in mouth, still enjoyable.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is malty and musty. Flavor is malty, yeasty and very musty. Taste like the moss covered barn it was made in. Very earthy and floral. A very pleasing brew that will open your eyes to farmhouse ales. Well recommended.

33cl bottle. Golden/orange colour with disappering white head. Slightly pale malty nose, some citric hop, good bready malts going onward. Impressive. Good hoppy finish. Excellent blond beer that I will certainly buy again next time I am in France

(Bottle 75 cl) Pretty, golden with floating impurities and a tall, frothy head. Sweet and lightly perfumy with an alcohol glow. Initially light, soft and mellow with a rather low carbonation. But som late fusty notes come creeping up on you giving this a very artisanal touch. 101101

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dark yellow color ale with nice big head with better then average retention. Aroma is quite floral but does not seem to contain any spices, as I would have expected. Taste is quite refreshing with some nice floral malt and lingering bitterness at the end. Body is a bit thin for a ‘’biere de garde’’ and this generally lack some punch to be truly remarkable.

2003 or 2004 bottle. Good hearty, if somewhat muted, golden color, with some light orangeish/amber tones. Big puffy white head, sediment and light haze. Aroma of light DMS, almonds, butter, vanilla, alcohol, strong pils-like malt. Flavor is strangely sweet, but then turns almost sharp or bittersweet. What the hell causes this vanilla extract-like flavor?? Whatever it is, it seems to go hand in hand with a harsh alcohol flavor, that is sharp and very disruptive. On the positive side, the body is good and chewy, with pils malt, warm honey flavors and a strong, herbs and nuts yeast. Some light citrus tones come out on the finish and as it warms and breathes, some of the sharp alcohol leaves, but it still is there lurking. Either this beer has some serious alcohol issues and a vast overabundance of residual sugar, or it is just EXTREMELY young (hot as they say now. . .). I’ll give it some benefit of the doubt, but I’m not wholly convinced.

Bottled. Golden coloured, clear. Whiskey aroma. Sweet and pleasantly malty. Rounded and simple.

Malty and vineous aroma. Red golden, blanket head. "dark" and full taste - but also some fusel and alcohol in the taste. The soft refreshing exit is really the only thing that would make this a blonde.

Gold-amber colour, clear. yellowish head, slowly disappearing but lacy. Alcohol nose, dry, candi-sugar, nearly syrupy - and also something like dried moss. taste is very dry-sweet (candi-sugar again), slightly citrus-rind. Lots of alcohol, alcohol-burn, sugar becomes cloying. More of the same in the aftertaste. Unimpressive.
