Not bad. Black, and a light malt aroma. Flavor is lightly roasted malt and burned popcorn. There is a good-sized head, and medium body.

Bottled reads "Limited Edition 2004" , I found this in a small bottle shop/grocery near the Dieu du Ciel in Montreal. Large creamy head of off-white over a brown body with red highlights. Lots of caramel malt flavor and aroma but not really much depth or complexity. Drinkable, but just a bit below average.

2004 bottle, aged 4 months! Shared with bucknaked on 4/31/2005. Pour is a dark, drab brown with some light auburn highlights. Initial beige-tan head is rapidly dissipating. Aroma of caramel, not terribly real, not a whole lot else goin on there either. Maybe some cola. Not too much badness in the nose, just a bit of musty dirt. A whiff of chocolate in there as well. Flavor is of hard American-like crystal malt, light, fleeting chocolate, rather dry and yet quite a watery body, though nothing terribly unspeakable. Some brief stale coffee notes, moderate carbonation. Bit of hazelnut. Somewhere in the general vicinity of average for an American porter. You could talk about how this "isnt that bad, and blah blah blah", but when it comes down to it, with all of the other fantastic porters out there, why would you ever drink this again?

Very dark chestnut brown colour. Not much head. Aroma is light, a little dusty, with notes of nuts, cheap coffee, and multigrain toast. Flavour has some roasty astringency, lots of toast and nut. Body is a little thin, not uncommon in old-school porters. What I miss, though, as old-school porter seems to be what they’re aiming for, is a little bit of fruitiness that the best examples display. This is lager-clean. I could also do with a chewier finish - this beer’s finish is roasty dry.

Dark brown ale with bubbly off-white head. Lightly skunky lager aroma. Surprise! Their is actually a decent nuttyness to the malt, lightly roasted with nice bitterness in finish. Medium bodied, light for a porter, rich for a sleeman! Oh well...I tried it.

This porter pours a extremely dark red with a light tan head. There is scents of grape citrus, molasass and spice. First sip had a burnt taste to it. Slightly sweet with low carbonation. Very small citrus taste in the flavour. The finish is burnt with some smoke and spice.
