Opaque dark black - brown beer, good tan head. Airy palate, very modest carbonation. Mildly dry dark malts, reasonable dark chocolate. Fruity esters and fruit liqueurs. Very mild fruity whiskey. Finishes light with a little spice. Barreling has done interesting things to this one, Light, fruity and drinkable.

Bottle shared. Black with bubble beige head. Chocolate milk, coffee, quite boozy grain whisky notes, fresh leaves, light woody, toffee. Medium sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with slight feel and slight slick feel. Ok stuff.

33cl bottle from the brewery. A pitch black pour with a ring of tan head; chocolatey aroma with a hint of oak barrels; smooth dark chocolate taste with a milky body; then a superb, gently warming finish with even more chocolate and touch of vanilla. Excellent.

Bottle consumed at Cropredy, Fairports Annual Reunion Festival 2015, Thurs 13th, Friday 14th and Sat 15th shared with Craig. Pours black in colour with a really creamy head, dense looking beer. Chocolates on mouth, soft and creamy. Warming, it’s even a little tangy, some chocolate/cocoa powder, it’s good, the Bavarian single malt ageing is pleasant. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4
