a soft low white head on an unfilter-looking butterscotch brown body. The nose is a delicious blend of toffee, malt, dark berries and a hint of booze. The taste profile has everything you could want in a scotch ale - lead tastes of toffee and butter with ripe dark berries, roasted malt and a solid touch of citrus hops, which is often missing from Scotch Ales. A medium to dense body and a silky mouth feel add to the taste experience. Superior!

Keg at Gainsbourg, Gatineau. Cloudy mahogany colour, small head. Peppery bready nose with some fudge. Mid sweet with medium-full body and soft mouthfeel. Gentle pear brandy, notes of coffee, velvetty malt. Warming mid bitter finish. Lovely harmonious winter warmer.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and slight lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt and light toffee notes is quite pleasant. Taste is a nice mix of a caramelized malt with light toffee and light residual sugar and a thin finale. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad but doesn’t have some of the complexity I would usually associate with the style.

In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with light licorice, alcohol warmth, dark fruits, burned Caramel, nice. On tap at brewery.
